When to update

Update when the Astute Beta APK download page carries a newer build than the one on your phone, or when your current build starts throwing login errors that smell like an old test cycle. The Astute Beta APK homepage always names the current verified build.

Step 1: Download the new build

Run the six second countdown on the download page and get the new 536 MB file. Confirm the finished size before opening it, exactly as you did the first time.

Step 2: Install over the old build

Open the new file and install it directly over your current Astute Beta APK. Your Guest Mode session or test account usually carries across, though test resources may reset.

Step 3: Only uninstall on signature conflict

If the installer refuses with a signature error, remove the old build first, then install fresh. This wipes local session data, so only do it when the direct install fails. The install troubleshooting guide covers the conflict in detail.

After the update

Let the first resource load finish on Wi-Fi, then spot-check the features you care about. Test builds change between releases, so confirm rather than assume. If you were chasing an older build, the old versions guide explains the trade-offs.

Quick answers

How do I update Astute Beta?

Download the newer APK from the download page and install it over your current build. Only uninstall first if the installer reports a signature conflict.

Do I lose my test progress when updating?

Sometimes. Test resources are temporary by design and can reset with new builds or server updates. Never treat them as permanent.

How do I know my build is outdated?

Login errors, server-full messages, or features that no longer match the build notes. When in doubt, match your build against the download page.
